We as fitness professionals tend to joke that the "New Years Resolutioners" will be gone by March, however it seems that the numbers in the gym really begin to decline around the end of January. Why? Probably because everyone starts off gung ho, ready to shed the 10 pounds they gained during the holidays and literally kill themselves on some type of starvation diet and a million hours in the gym. Here's the truth, your body does not like to lose fat.....it wants to hang on to it for the next time there is a "perceived famine". The key is long term goals. In order to acheive your weight loss goals, there can be no "quick fix". We live in a "Microwave/Fast food" society where we want everything yesterday and unfortunately in order to trick the body into losing fat, there must be a more conservative approach or else the results achieved will be very short-lived. At Achieve Fitness, we have all the resources you need to not only reach your fitness goals but MAINTAIN them so you won't be following the same pattern you may have in the past.
